Please be aware that there is some maintenance taking place on the Movie Set over your selected dates. This work will continue from 1 June – 30 September 2025. During this time, the main tour route will be unaffected however some contractors, maintenance and construction equipment will be working on site in the gardens and rear of the Party Field during your experience. Bag End, Bagshot Row and The Green Dragon Inn will not be affected.
Our guided tours are delivered in English and Mandarin languages only. For hard of hearing and non-English speaking customers, please download the Hobbiton™ Tour Companion App to complement the guided tour. The app offers key written information shared by our guides while on tour translated into 15 languages.
The content on the Hobbiton Tour Companion App becomes accessible only when you are physically present in the area and during your guided tour experience. You will receive location notifications upon your arrival in each stop along your journey as you explore The Shire. There is no map or content available until it's activated by the notification.
Please note that this app is a written translation only and is not meant as a substitute for your fully guided tour. The app does not include any video or sign language content at this stage. The content within the app is written only and is not available as an audio or visual tour.

How does the app work?
The App delivers content to your phone in real time as you journey around the Movie Set with your tour guide. Push notifications are activated by GPS coordinates, so as your guide stops at specific locations on the tour to share stories, these same stories are available to you in written form in your language of choice.

The Hobbiton Tour Companion App is designed only to be used when you are on site experiencing a guided tour experience. The content is GPS activated meaning that information will only be available as you journey through the guided tour experience.
